Dont Let The Sun Burn You UP

This is a great product. Goes on easy if you have someone to help but can be installed by yourself if necessary. All straps are where they need to be and hold tight.

great value

Very dry even in the south Florida torrential rain. Keeps the front seat completely dry. Way better than I would have hoped for. Only con is that two of the cheap plastic clips snapped during the install and the flimsy plastic tightening buckles don't hold tension at highway speeds, so the top loosens and then flaps. I would buy it again but take it to have the attachment hardware removed and replaced with stronger pieces that do the job of securing it better.

Great Product

The first installation is a bit difficult. The front of the top does not easily wrap around the edges of the windshield. Once in place, however, it never moved. I'm pleased with the product.

Surviving Vegas

Driving your Jeep without the hard top and doors is what Jeep's were made for. But, months and months of 100+ degree heat in Vegas can get to all of us. The Safari top keeps the desert sun off of you and makes the heat bearable.

Nice bikini top, good price

Shipped free and quickly. I had a difficult time getting the plastic tab on the front of the top to stay in the groove of the required bolt on header, BST51238-01. The instructions said to do that first but doing it by myself, the top kept slipping down and out of the channel. I found by centering and using two large spring clamps at the corners to hold the top in place, I could lay the rest of the top in position, attach the rear straps around the rear seat belts anchors. With a little tension on the rear straps, the plastic tab slipped into the channel and stayed there. Once I figured that out, it took about 10 minutes to finish the installation.

Great product once you get it on.

Sharp looking - drew many compliments the first day out with it. You definately need two or more prople to get this thing into the track and hold it while someone tightens the straps. Once you get it on and tight it performs well on the highway with little flapping. The velcro attachments over the front side tubes are sloppy and do not tighten well but it does not really affect the performance. No regrets buying this.

Quality piece

In place of a soft top it works great. With the door surrounds it keeps rain out just as well as the factory top. It's a well made piece, and it fits well. It's easy to install and remove.

Safari Header Bikini Top

Very nice top, but a little tricky to install. You need a least 2 people to get it on. one to hold the front of the top in the header and the other to pull it tight and strap the rear. Once it's tight on the header, the rest of the install is easy.

Works great

So far so. good works like it should.keep the sun out, It's thicker then a sunshield. I'm not sure how good it would do in a hard rain. Make sure you buy this piece, a no-drill header windshield channel part number 51244-01 (sold separately). Or it will be hard to hear anything . when driving on the highway it will make some noise.

Serves its purpose...

I was looking for sun protection and protection from a possible pop up shower. This should do the trick. IMPORTANT: Before putting it on, place the top in the sun for about 20 minutes. This will make it more pliable to insure a proper fit. It also makes it much easier to install. Otherwise you will curse as it flops in the wind. A drawback: Top does not cover rear seat completely. Also wish the straps were longer.

Love this top

Absolutely love this top. Originally had a solid bikini top for my old jeep, but wanted something that let a little more light in considering that is the reason for taking the hard top off in the first place. I do not get the "whipping" sound like I got from the solid top. Instruction were not the best, but common sense works best. Nice tight fit, exactly what I was looking for.

Hated it, now love it

The tops fit into the channel at the front of the windshield is poor. It eventually molds to the curve required at the left and right ends. Keeps the sun off and most of the rain (just keep moveing)!

Good top for the price

The top works great with the no- drill windshield retainer. The only problem I had was with the factory sound bar. One T30 bolt was so stuck I broke two drivers trying to break it loose. Now my Jeep doesn't have a soundbar :) The top looks great and will look even better once the sun smooths out the shipping wrinkles. The factory soft-top will stay in the shed and this one will be used full time. The bikini top will prevent puddles on the cover during rain storms, this will make both last longer. I recommend going with the no-drill option to keep your Jeep stock. I will put the soundbar back in only if I sell.

Bestop lacks adequate rear clips

Rear plastic clips should be metal. My 2012 JK Rubicon did not have a hole in sport bar for attaching plastic clip. I solved that problem with 1/4 inch by 2 inch eye bolts and nuts. Used hole in soft top rail to anchor eye bolt with 1/4 inch washer and sealed washer on top of rail. to prevent scratching paint. Rear clip easily holds strap in place so! Additional cost $1.00 per side.

Great Top

I bought this top with the no drill windshield header and it works perfectly. There is only one minor tweak I need to do to the passenger front side though. But otherwise the top is perfect. I have the deck cover as well and it looks awesome. We had a hailstorm the other night and the top took it well, which surprised me with how much hail and how strong the winds were.
