Reviews: Bestop HighRock 4x4 2 Inch Receiver Hitch Bumpers

The reviews pointing out the difficulty with installation and fit didn't sway my purchase and I expected some bumps along the way yet experienced none. Installed this is less than 2 hours. Only disappointment is that there is no provision for mounting a wiring connection for trailer lights.

well needless to say I got stuck in deep snow and we got out by tugging on the bumper and dragging me 50 yards it is everything they say and more best on the market and tested tough for shure

Great reliable bumper.

put front and rear high rocks on my 2006 tj rubicon when new they have saved the body from rock and tree damage many times and still look great. I wish the tj frame had this tough of finish. 2" hitch square tube hitch fit perfect will not take the 2" solid square stock hitch but the jeep isn't built to tow 10,000lbs

I had this bumper/tire carrier installed a couple months ago, and I couldn't be happier with it. It easily handles my 35" spare tire while driving over bumpy roads and rock trails. The spindle that takes the spare tire weight is huge! I have no rattle or other such noises from this bumper, plus it is designed to let you open the tailgate door just as if the spare wasn't there. Also, Very price competitive with all other tire carriers.

I chose this bumper and had it installed because of the swing out with the tailgate function. I didn't want my wife to have to lift the tire carrier to latch it onto the rear bumper like my previous jeep. Two days ago I was rear-ended by a Chevy 3500 work van at a stop light. The hood, grill, and bumper of the van was badly damaged. I had a scratched off paint on my wheel, slight bend in the carrier, a smudge of the van's paint on my bumper, and the tailgate had a dent in the bottom. All of this is barely visible at a glance, but the outcome would have been much worse if I was still running stock parts. A quality product well worth the investment.

Great product. Very easy to install. Made of solid material. One thing to remember is that when you take off the old bumper the frame of the Jeep may be discolored and need to be painted flat black to cover imperfections before you mount this bumper.

I was looking for a good looking bumper with D-ring attachment points and a 2" receiver for light towing. I really like the look of this bumper and the fact that the receiver hitch is built into the bumper. Having the receiver built into the bumper gives me a little more rear clearance on my LJ than adding a separate receiver hitch. Installation was super easy and the finish seems like it will last a long time.

I'm enjoying the bumper. My 35 inch tire has no problem on the tire carrier. No rattles what so ever. Only complaint I have is the 4wd.com description is not correct, this bumper is not "Textured" black powder coat. It is smooth and shiny black. I painted it with Rustoleum bed liner to get the look I wanted. Still worth it. FYI there is a black powder coat offered by Bestop, just not this one.

Bag of hardware was wrong. It was clearly for some other part. I just bought grade 8 bolts. There should be a different bolt pattern for 1987-96 and 1997-06. The inside bolts on 97-06 would be tough to get to because of the gas tank but it is possible. Otherwise exactly what I expected and looks great.

seems to be built good. i like the way it opens with the tailgate. only had it on for a few weeks so time will tell if it will hold up.

Buy some grade 8 bolts at your local hardware store to install this bumper. The bolts they include will strip the threads the first time you remove them. Otherwise this bumper is of great build quality and a great price.
