    How to Install a Banks PDA Tuner

    Congratulations on your purchase of a Gale Banks PDA Tuner! Now you can increase horsepower with an extra 125 on its highest power setting and improve gas mileage anywhere from 7 to 10% on its second setting, not to mention a variety of other options. But in order to get the best performance possible, you need to make sure you install the tuner properly, which can be a little tricky. Let the experts at 4 Wheel Parts help you out!     Steps to Installing a Banks PDA Tuner

    1. Before any installation, make sure you read the instructions and thoroughly understand all of the steps.
    2. Disconnect your negative battery terminal. Keep in mind that there could be two batteries.
    3. Pull out the passenger’s side front fender well to access the exhaust manifold. Remove the inner fender liner bolts and the liner will pull out easily.
    4. Drill a hole in the exhaust manifold 2 ½ inches forward of where it meets the exhaust flange. Tap it out with a pipe thread tap and insert a pyrometer probe.
    5. Find proper placement for the Banks brain. Make sure that you will have proper clearance when you close the hood so that it doesn’t rest on the brain itself.
    6. Connect the pyrometer, the computer hook ups, and the map center hook up.
    7. Run a wire from your truck cab through one of the bulkhead grommets by the sector shaft. Tie it to the wire that will hook up to the PDA in the dash and use it to pull the PDA wire through to the cab.
    8. Secure the Banks brain to the ECM. Most Banks units will come with double sided tape and Velcro on the back to easily fasten to the ECM.
    9. Hook up the OBT2 censor right underneath the driver’s side dash. That will hook to the wiring harness and the PDA.
    10. Remove the fuse panel on the left side of the dash and run the connecting cord to the PDA through the fuse panel and up the back of the dash.
    11. Suction cup the holder to the window, set the PDA in the holder and attach the connecting cord.
    12. Take her for a spin and see for yourself the immediate difference it makes!
