4 Types of Auxiliary Lights

There are a lot of different auxiliary lights available for your vehicle. An easy way to figure out which lights you should purchase is by asking yourself, “What am I going to be using these lights for?” Once you’ve figured that out, it should be fairly clear into which category your lights fall. Our experts at 4 Wheel Parts have divided them into 4 basic types of auxiliary lights to help make your purchasing decision as easy as possible.

4 Main Types of Auxiliary Lights

    • Driving Lights
    • Long range, pencil-style beam
    • Great for illuminating objects far down the road
    • Best for seeing long distances
    • Fog Lights
    • Yellow lens
    • Gradual, spread out beam that gets underneath the fog and lifts it up to help illuminate the road right in front of you
    • Best for evenings
    • Not intrusive to oncoming traffic
    • 9 Inch Round Lights
    • Great for front light bars or overhead roof racks
    • The brightest option. Best used for lighting up large areas
    • Flood Lights
    • White lens
    • Cast a broad light on everything behind your vehicle
    • Not something you want to have on while you’re driving, but gives you some extra light if you’re hooking up a trailer, unloading your truck bed, etc
