The Jeep Wrangler JL is hard to beat. Straight from the factory, it is comfortable, capable, and a more refined version of its predecessor. If we had to pick a vehicle to drive to Moab, take on almost any trail, and then drive back home, the Jeep JL would be the one. There are very few vehicles that can match its blend of on- and off-highway prowess.

One small chink in the armor of the JL it is that it doesn’t quite yet have the vast aftermarket following the JK does. The Jeep Wrangler JK is literally an adult Lego playset. You can bolt pretty much whatever you want to it and make it is as capable as your wallet allows. The world is your oyster when it comes to Jeep JK parts.

The lack of aftermarket goodies for the Jeep JL is rapidly changing though. Almost every day a new part is introduced and more are on the way. The number of bumpers, armor, suspension, and more for the JL will soon rival that of the JK.

One of the latest products for the Jeep JL that caught our eye is Rugged Ridge’s new Arcus front bumper. The Arcus is a stubby front bumper that maximizes approach angle. Its clean, strong looks come from its stamped steel construction using 11-gauge steel. Built into it are provisions that fit the factory Sport and Sahara fog lights without modification. Beefy 1-inch thick tow hooks are drilled for either 7/8-inch or ¾-inch D rings. A recessed winch plate tucks the winch in nice and low for clean looks and maximum airflow. Overall, it’s a rugged, modern-looking bumper that looks great on the JL. Let’s take a closer look.
