Electric Steps & Running Boards
These Electric Steps & Running Boards are triggered by your vehicle's factory door sensor, so when you open your door they drop to a convenient stepping height, when you close your door they retract. Weekends are made for rock crawling and backcountry roads. Having a lift kit can help you go further into the brush and keep you from going rubber side up on gnarly trails. Stationary running boards and side steps can be great for getting a leg up into the cab but are often a rock magnet in tight spaces. Automatic running boards are convenient, sturdy and remove the worry of getting hung up on your own equipment.
Safety Features
Automatic trucks steps drop when you need them and retract when you don't, which prevents them from coming into contact with rocks, trees and other obstacles. The increased drop makes cab entry and exit easier for the vertically challenged and the optional extension kit for electric side steps can lower it even more. They have a wider surface than many fixed steps, and they have a non-slip texture, maintaining grip even in wet conditions. LED lighting improves visibility and pressure sensitive, anti-pinch technology ensures that it will not retract if there is pressure anywhere on the step. This also cuts power in case of a jam, preventing the motor from burning out.
Strength and Durability
Die-cast aluminum steps can hold up to 600 pounds. The anodized and Teflon finish resists corrosion, scratches and dents. Retractable side steps deliver optimal performance in all weather conditions. The stainless-steel pivot pins have self-lubricating bushings, and the protected electric components contribute to zero maintenance requirements.
