The speed is great

I use the winch under extreme situations riding in trails with lots of forest and mud and never had a problem, Its a winch attached to a Optima Yellow Top that provideme the security of having a independent vechicle capable of getting out of the worse places.

A Die Hard Jeeper

I have owned 3 of the Warn M8274, 8000 LB winches. My first one was in 1977 and was installed on a 1977 Jeep CJ-5, this winch is incredible. We recovered a motorcycle that was in a revine, more that 150ft down. I spoiled off the 150ft of cable and spooled it back on bringing up the motorcycle as well. When I got back home I spoiled off the cable and spooled the cable back on under pressure. Never had any problems with the cable pulling down through the layers. The second one was a replacement for the first one. The third was purchased in 1980 and was installed on a 1980 Jeep CJ-7. All of the 8274?s had roller heads on them. This winch was used for self recover and during the blizzard of March 1982. This winch preformed faultless on all recovery?s. Using the Snatch Block and Coker Chain on most of the recovery?s made all the difference in the world. the Warn M8274-50 was designed to be used with both the Warn Snatch Block and the Warn 6? Coker Chain. This winch got it?s name when it was designed, 8000LBS/2 (IN& OUT)/74 (when it was designed & built) Thank you

Nothing But The Best!

I had two of this nice winches, with no problems what so ever!. Pulls my 1979 Chevy k-30 out of anything, and drags out anyone stuck! The best I have ever seen.

Proven record for durability

I just purchased a unit that was manufactured in 1987 and was all original. I opened it up, changed the oil, and reassembled. It operates perfectly so far, and after reading multiple online reviews, forum threads, and winch shoot out articles, it is apparent that this is probably the best winch Warn ever made. Yes, the price is on the high end for similarly spec'd winches, but if I can buy one that is 24 years old and still works like new, you should expect decades of service out of this product.

Beast

Mine is an older version of the same model, but this winch is a beast. Pulls my jeep out just fine...go figure, but has pulled three trucks at once with no problem. Would definently recommend it to anyone
