Reviews: Trail Master Nomad 12K Winch - TM97512

I purchased this on 4wp.com and have been impressed. A 12k winch under 300 is a great deal. I will end up upgrading to synthetic rope. I did notice the free spool is a bit "loose' and causes the cable to unwind on the drum more than I'd like. That's the main reason I want to switch over to synthetic. I also upgrade to grade 5 bolts but those are little things. It's a great winch and i would not hesitate to buy another.

Second trail master winch i owned, excellent overall, quiet, reliable and powerful.

High quality winch for a great price. Works great and was an easy install. Would (and have) recommend.

Fit perfectly on my smittybilt bumper. Used more than a dozen times to recover myself, several other jeeps, a fiat, and a 2500 Ford. The 100 feet of line seems like too much but is extremely useful when you need it. Best winch for the money

Fit perfectly on my front bumper. Easy to install, took 2 hours. Had to remove bumper to install on wench plate. Very good quality, as good any other on market. It works.

I have just recently purchased this winch. Just installed today. Wanted to comment on the quality of this product, it is impressive. I haven't found any cosmetic discrepancies at all. I rewound the cable once it was installed and was surprised by how quiet the motor ran. the cable unspooled very smoothly with little resistance for its entire length. The only issue I have with this winch is where the cable is attached to the drum, it is attached high towards the outer rim of the drum. This interferes with an even lay of the cable when spooling in the cable. I think this winch is very acceptable and will update this review as the product is further put to the test.
