I have never been a fan of "nerf" style steps but we bought a brand new 2014 JKU and my 5'03 wife needed something for a step. I previously used Carr Hoops on my TJ but I thought 4 would look stupid on a JKU so I reluctantly bought these bars. I was really impressed with the textured finish and I have to admit they look good on the Jeep. Plus they were super easy to install. Did it by myself in about 15 minutes for both sides. Hopefully they are durable.
Great Price. Easy to install although a bit tight on my 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. Again the price is amazing for what you get.
I've never been a fan of "nerf"-style step bars but my wife is 5'03 and needed something. We had Carr Hoops on our TJ but felt they would look bad on a 4dr JKU. I reluctantly bought these and once they were on I really liked them. Very, very easy to install. I did it alone in less than 20 minutes and the textured finish looks very sharp.
Great product for the price. Easy to install!
Great product, easy to install, looks good, works well, came fast, durable, I’m happy.
On my 2015 JK these bolted up quite easily. Installation was actually relaxing and fun. My only criticism of the kit is that the installation hardware (nuts, bolts, washers, etc) were not organized in any way. I had to sort through everything to make sure I got the correct parts paired up with the correct application. Otherwise, it was a fun little project.
Excellent quality, low cost, tough, installs in half an hour and does not interfere with mud flaps or rock rails
I love the look of these running boards. Not too soft looking, gives the jeep a defined minimal look yet kind of rugged look. Not too clumbsy looking. It may be a little narrow for some people but I love the way it looks.
Bought this for my wife for Christmas (2012). Product arrived prior to estimated delivery date and in good condition. I decided to install prior to Christmas, because the weather was so nice. Installation went fairly smoothly, roughly an hour. Bars bolt directly to the frame on the 2012 JK with additional support provided at the pinch weld. It even came with a Smittybilt sticker that my daughter put on her jeep. The only recommendation I would have for Smittybilt is to compartmentalize the hardware. It was a little pain trying to sort through washers, nuts and bolts that I didn't need. Picky, I know.
These were a great addition, and easy to install. Thjey were light enough I installed them without any help, and they look great.
WAS AFFORDABLE AND SO CLOSE FOR ME TO PICK UP
Great product, one dead screw
I needed a step so my wife could get into the Jeep. They were low cost in comparison, Everything just bolted up pretty easy. Just barely start the bolts that hold the hangers. Then put on the step and tighten . Don't try and tighten hangers prior to putting on the step. I thought I left them loose enough but had to go back and loosen the hangers to get the steps lined up. 2nd side I put on was twice as fast.
Easy install and saves a ton of weight when you remove the stock rock sliders
Good sturdy product. Easy to install after u dig through the massive amount of extra hardware it comes with. These mount nice and are great for kids that need that extra step to get into your vehicle! The only negative comment I have is that one of the end caps wasn't mounted correctly from the manufacturer and it will probably fall off on the highway somewhere. Otherwise I would have given 5 stars.
First, I have to say right off the bat that this was my first order from 4wheelparts.com. I'm always a little hesitant to order from new companies online but the process with 4wheelparts.com was as good as the best experience I've had elsewhere. With that out of the way, let me talk about the side bars. I wanted to get a much more expensive pair of side bars for my 2012 JK Unlimited but I didn't want to shell out the big bucks just yet. However my wife is a short woman and, while watching her get in the Jeep was pretty funny, I knew I had to do something to help her climb in. These Smittybilt side steps were the cheapest I could find that I would risk buying. They arrived much sooner than I expected and were a breeze to put on. I had both sides installed and secured in under an hour. They're quite solid, and can hold my 240 pounds jumping up and down on them without a problem. My only concerns are partly unfounded and partly vain. First, I'm worried that, because they're powder coated and not stainless, that they will rust. Especially around the rubber step pads. I've been assured that they won't, but time will tell. Secondly, I'm not a fan of the rubber step mats that say Smittybilt on them. I wish they were just plain jane without any text. Completely trivial. As for the look, I like it. It's not what I want in the long term but they're solid and easy to install and serve a specific purpose. They're certainly not ugly by any means. At the end of the day, I think I got an extremely good deal. The craftsmanship is solid, the quality is about what I expected it to be; not great but not poor either.
