Got this for my 81 scrambler

I had to drill a few extra holes, but this thing fits perfect. Did not have to remove the back seat to put this in, fits flush up against it.

Like box, but damaged in shipping. took it anyway

Great fit and functionality. Had a big crease down the side, looks like lift truck. Not notable when installed and drawer works perfect. Did not want the hassle of sending back.

Storage box perfect...

Works great! I ordered this box after seeing how well it worked out for someone else that got one. It works great for storing all my recovery gear and tools. I think I'm going to mount the seat brackets on top of it.

Fits 04 TJ LJ

I installed it towards the front of my 04 TJ Unlimited. Leaves room in back for grocery bags and the drawer doesn?t hang outside of Jeep when pulled out. Good price compared to other sites I found it on

Very Happy So Far!

Purchased my Jeep TJ in 2004 new. I removed the rear seat in 2005 and built a wood deck. across the back. So i have had many different boxes and tubs holding all my recovery and camping gear and was always looking an easier way of unloading or just getting to certain things. Doing the whole overland build out always seemed a bit of overkill for a 2 door tj. A single drawer looked the best for me. I looked at Tuffy but there drawer height was very shallow. The SB Box works perfect. its about the same height as the wheel wells so after the install i took a yoga mat cut it to fit and placed another deck across the top. 1 piece of carpet to fit inside to help with stuff moving. I also use a collection of Husky bags of various sizes to store everything inside so i don't get the noise issues. Install easy with 2. Did this in the parking lot a 4WP and didn't have to remove hardtop. However you need to do your prep work by removing all the seatbelt hardwear. And i would recommend removing the 4 small footman loops as well. I kept the factory carpet underneath. The drawer slides could be better but i also priced them when i considered trying to build my own. a pair of proper drawer slides $100 to $140. So i understand why smitty is using these. The only thing you might have a problem with in a tj is the box comes in contact with the nader rear door bolt when opening and closing. It doesn't bother me, i can give it a nudge and still works. but i might use a dremel to cut a tiny and i mean tiny piece out of the corner in the future. I have had it in for a few months. covered it with stickers! Been wondering why i didn't do this years ago. Very happy so far. 1 other thing. I have a rear door table i made. Even if you have a nice one don't worry. The box actually fits inside by about 4 inches so it won't interfere.

Good strong storage container

This is a good solid storage box needed in a Wrangler. I had to put a small piece of weatherstrip on the drawer to stop a rattle but that is no big deal. Bolts thru the floor with the bolts from the seat. Did have to push the box slightly to the right to clear the nader bolt, but again, no big deal...you won't notice it. Tie-down anchors integrated into to top helps with coolers, etc that needs to be secured.

Great box but the lock is garbage

Easy to install and fits great! It easily glides and I have less than 100lbs of cargo in it. The bad part is the lock. If you use your Jeep like you are supposed to and go off-road the lock bends tab very easily and causes the drawer to become loose. I'm going to end up putting some sort of latch on it to keep it secure and locked in place.

Great box

In my 2001 TJ, quality and fit were great. Mounting wise I wished it would have utilized the space towards the tailgate more. It limits reclining the front seats back much but had 3 inches of space between the drawer face and the tailgate. I redrill mine and moved it back.

Very strong and handy box

Box is well made but rattles when going off road. Annoying, so going to try and put a different glide on drawer.

Great Storage Box

I ordered this storage box on July 8 and due to backorders and it being shipped to the wrong address I received it in 4 months and 4 days. When the unit did arrive I was very pleased with the overall appearance and the opening handle and locking device was more than I expected. Very nice. I was very pleased to find that the unit bolts down to the jeep using the existing welded in nuts that did hold down the seat brackets. I wanted to leave the carpet in place so I had to go buy longer bolts. In order to bolt the storage unit in, the instructions state to take the drawer out and explains how to do it. That was easy. I was taken aback by at least 10 bolts, nuts, and washers that were all over, under the drawer. What came next was not so good, as I tilted the box into the back of the jeep part of the slide unit fall apart. I spent half an hour getting the plastic strip that contained round balls back into place. These rails are inside the box so they could not have been bumped. Taken the drawer out makes the unit lighter and I was able to lift it into the back of the jeep. I had to do a lot of pushing and shoving to get the box over so that the drawer would clear the jeep's tailgate latching post. All in all I am pleased with the unit. The drawer now contains all the supplies that use to be under the seats, behind the seats, and on the seats. Plus I have some room to spare. The drawback is no rear seat but we hardly ever used it. Well not true, we used it for our dog. I carpeted the top of the new box and now our dog has more room, a secure rug and can see out a whole lot better. Loading groceries is much easier now. We use to load them through the passenger side and lift them into the back seat. Now we open the tailgate and easily place them on top of the security box.
