Reviews: Rugged Ridge Tube Bumpers

The tube bumper was a perfect fit. Everything was going great till I started installing the fog lights. The mounting bolts for the fog lights were too small and they snapped off. What I did was finish snapping off the remaining bolts and drilled them out. Then I installed my fog lights with self tapping screws. Other than the fog light mounting bolts, I am very happy with the tube bumper. It has changed the looks of my Jeep! I would recommend this bumper to my Jeep friends. .

Good quality, very good price. I don’t get my part yet. I order it on May 06 2020. Buy rear bumper too. And looks great and easy for install.

Great bumper, buying a second one. Welded end caps and powdercoat finish prevented rust. My previous bumper had plastic caps and rusted around the caps. This bumper looks great and protected my YJ in an accident. Took out three 5" trees and protected the front end in 10 mph head-on impact. Bumper destroyed, but really worth it.

I recently purchased the tube bumper with fog light cutouts. I was very impressed with the construction of the product. The fitment was great and made my Jeep look totally different. My only complaint was the fog light mounting screws. The screws were painted and I could not get a bolt started on them. After I got a screw started, I had to use a wrench to tighten them down. The screws were very small and several of them snapped off. I will have to drill them out and install bigger screws if I am going to use my fog lights. Overall, I am happy with the tube bumper and would recommend it to anybody.

I love the way this looks. However it was a chore to install. The problem is the bolts inside the bumper are just long enough to fit. That requires alignment between the bumper, the frame for the winch plate, and the frame of the vehicle. This is difficult because the winch plate has to be firmly bolted in place because there's no access after the bumper goes into position. I struggled with this for a couple of hours. I used two beefy ratchet straps to pull the bumper into the frame so that I could attach the bolts. Even then it was difficult to get enough contact with the threads to begin the tightening process. once the bolts were started it took some musle to tighten it to the vehicle. The flimsy part of the product is the bolts for the install of the factory fog lights. These are welded to the bumper and they're a very small diameter. It's very easy to break them off. I lost one on each light.
