GREAT PRODUCT

I had an electrical grimlin that was killing my battery, after a week of not being able to find where the problem was coming from I decided to just get a kill switch. Upon first looking all I found was the big bulky switches that you had to drill a big hole in your dash and run a battery cable in and out of your cab and I thought their has to be something better out there then I came across this little gem. install is as easy as it gets with good instructions and only runs one grond switch in to your cab! you cant mess that up if you tried. Web sites tell you to use this swtch to disconect your fuse box and accessories and the directions tell you it is to disconect your starter wire truth is you can hook it all up to the switch. I ran a cable from the battery to the switch terminal and ran everything that was originaly attached to the battery to the other switch terminal and it handeled it just fine just dont forget to turn it off or the switch will kill your battery.

Master Disconnect Switch is Painless!

The Master Disconnect Switch was very easy to install...I spent more time hiding the on/off toggle switch than I did on the entire installation. It seems to be holding up just fine despite being used in an off-road vehicle. There's a couple of important factors you should consider: (SECURITY) The switch disables the ability to start the vehicle using the key but it can still be push started. So if you're using the Master Disconnect Switch solely as a theft deterrent I would also recommend using Painless' Battery Disconnect Switch to also disable the battery (no battery no spark!). This will provide you with a dual layer of theft protection. I do enjoy the security of the Master Disconnect Switch when it comes to being car-jacked...if someone accosts you in a parking lot or gas station and takes your keys they are not going to just jump in, start it and drive off (provided you've hidden the toggle switch well enough and you have the switch engaged!). (OPERATION) The switch will drain your battery flat if left in the "off" position for extended periods of time ("off" meaning the solenoid is not engaged and the vehicle can be started). I learned the hard way by killing a Red Top Optima battery when I did a weekend project. I parked Friday evening and started the work (the vehicle couldn't be driven so I didn't engage the Master Disconnect Switch) and when I tried to start it Monday morning it was completely dead. I now keep the switch in the "on" position AT ALL TIMES only disengaging it when I need to start my Jeep.
