Reviews: Mickey Thompson Baja Claw TTC Radial Tires

Replaced my old set of Mickey Thompson Baja Belted with these Claws. Installed them today on my 1984 Jeep CJ-7 and WOW. High stance, smooth ride even at highway speeds. Sound great and very quiet. I can even have a conversation with my wife at 65mph (top off ) As with every order 4WP has exceptional service and staff.

People said, oh this tire will be noisy, etc. It is quieter than you think, I don't hear them over my exhaust (and I do not have the loudest aftermarket exhaust by a long shot). These tires do appear to wear a little faster due to the softer compound, but I couldn't have picked a better off road tire. I plan on these tires being the only type that I will ever put on this Jeep.

23k plus miles on a 2007 Hummer H3 with weekend wheeling in mainly midwest mud/clay. Great traction off road with low road noise on road but the break in time was close to 5k miles till I started getting some decent flex off road aired down. I am ordering them again so I figure if you put your money where your mouth is then this tire can't be a bad one lol.

Having a bittersweet ending to my relationship with the Mickey Thompson Baja Claws. I have had these tires on my Jeep 4 Door for 45,000 miles. They have been a great companion on and off the road. Performed well in mud, snow, rain, and dry conditions. Only negatives, and reason for 4 stars, are because of poor gas mileage and poor stopping distances on snow and ice. I have decided to try out the BF Goodrich All terrains as my next set to hopefully get better MPG's and hopefully 50,000+ miles of life. However, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these tires to the true off roader or someone who is looking for an aggressive looking tire that is still good on the pavement, just make sure you leave some braking room if you are driving in slick conditions! Also, never had a flat during the life of these tires, and I am not shy when it comes to running over pot holes, curbs, hazards, or taking the road less traveled. Thanks for a great 45,000 miles Mickey Thompson, I'm sure our paths will cross again!
