Reviews: Rock Monster D.O.T. Beadlock Wheel, 17x8.5 with 5 on 5 Bolt Pattern - Black - 60637-017-01

Bought these for my 2015 JKU with a 4" Old Man Emu lift (there's still a lot of space in the wheel wells). Couldn't be happier with them or the service from 4WP. Ordered a Smittybilt HD tire carrier, these wheels, and 35" BFG MT KM3s on a Wednesday, and picked it all up by Monday. Nice job, 4WP! In Colorado, no local tire shops would mount beadlocks (4WP offered, but $150 per wheel was too rich for my blood). A little YouTubing made me comfortable with how to mount them ourselves (look for the video where a guy puts them together real-time in 9 minutes). SUPER easy. We were bout 15-20 minutes per wheel, depending on beer breaks. All you'll need is a couple deep well sockets (3/4 and 1"), a torque wrench (100lbs per nut), some tire lube, a screwdriver (for TPMS) and a little muscle. Once completed, I had my local Big O Tires balance them (they were nearly perfectly balanced to begin with) and do an alignment. I've not gotten them in the dirt yet, but super happy with them. A little pricey, for sure, but worth every penny.

Double beadlocks. You gotta love being able to change tires with a large screwdriver. The 4.65" backspacing is enough with 35's, but 37's will rub on the frame and control arm. I like 'em enough that I don't care. They are heavy but will hold a tremendous amount of weight. The TPMS is placed in the center of the rim. If you severely deflated and hit a rock full-on, you can crush your TPMS. I prefer the subdued finish over the bright and garish beadlocks I've seen. These are working wheels, not show wheels. Regardless, I really like the spoke pattern. The plastic stud covers are a pain to put on and take off. I've just left them off now. I have yet to bash a stud on a rock. I've heard of people pressing them out and installing them facing inwards. I haven't done that and I've heard it will interfere with big brake kits. I would buy them again in a heart-beat.

Wheels were delivered faster than expected. Packaging was top notch and instructions were easy to follow. First wheel took a little longer, but once you get going these are not too hard to assemble with tires. Looking forward to lowering the air pressure and testing these off-road.

Having run an external bead lock for many years I wasn't sure what to expect with these Hutchison wheels that lock internally. They work not only as good but better than I could have ever hoped. They look great and have held up really well. I would definitely recommend these wheels.
