Reviews: Crown Automotive Manual Trans Shift Bushing

I installed this on my 1992 Jeep Wrangler YJ with the AX-15 transmission. It's a pain to remove the retainer that holds the shifter in. Hint: I ended up removing the whole shift tower by removing the 4 bolts that mount it to the transmission and doing the bushing installation at the workbench. I found using a pair of bent nose pliers worked to get the retainer off then back on. After that, installing the bushing was a breeze and I didn't have to heat it in warm water like some people reported. Fit perfectly and I noticed that my shifter was a bit smoother and had less play after installing this.

This is exactly what I need to replace the two bushings that connect the 4WD shifter to the transfer case. Installed one underneath the center console and one underneath the driver side door. Low price and does exactly what I needed it to.

Great fit on my 2007 JKU. Apply a touch of grease and apply to the end of the cable first.

Just a note: There is an inferior bushing circulating Ebay with the same bushing number. I found out the hard way. I then ordered from 4wheelparts and the correct bushing arrived.

this is very esey to install I give it a 2 star for difficulty will need snap ring plyer to remove retainer to pull shifter.
