Reviews: Body Armor 4x4 Gas Can Adapter Kits

Padre Island adventure convinced me I needed a way to haul gasoline. Wish I'd bought the swing arm that already had the holes drilled and tapped. Fits well, and a machine shop installed np. I called Body Armor to figure out where and what to get. They were very helpful. Answered their phone and my questions!

Good design, very sturdy, heavy duty. Cans are secured tightly and do not move. Includes foam strip to add to the tray so the can and tray are not metal on metal contact. The cans are secured with an all threaded rod, which rubs the can when removing/installing. I covered mine with clear rubber hose to protect the can?s powder coating when removing/installing the can. But Body Armor needs to improve their quality control. The bolts to attach the trays to the arms did not align well enough. Although I was to make it work, BA needs to ensure there is adjust in these to make assembly easier. The 5th bolt at the bottom of the tray had to be bent on both trays to tighten against the arm. At some point, I suspect the powder coat with crack and peel here. I like BA products overall, as I have them on a few Jeeps. But they just need to improve their quality control.
