Damaged wire rope must be replaced to safely operate any winch. Constructed of aircraft wire rope and galvanized to help resist corrosion. Includes swaged loop on one end, and wire rope terminal on the other.
I deducted one star, simply because the product picture depicts a winch hook with the cable. The hook I am using is rock solid, but I was excited to get one with what appears to be a spring loaded pin. I was looking forward to using it for my plow, instead of the tried and true duct tape wrap, to keep the hook in place.
One nice bit was the hex bolt to attach to the spindle. The factory bolt was still fine, but I like the more flush fit and used the hardware.
The cable is a perfect fit, and I didn't even realize how bad the old one had got, before it broke. 15 years of service is acceptable. I just wish I had that hook in the picture (I know, go get one already).

It is what it is
Comes ready to install. But the new allen head bolt that attatches the cable to the winch drum was too short to work on my Warn M8000. So I just reused the old one.
In 1948, Arthur Warn founded Warn Industries to construct locking hubs for surplus World War II Jeeps. Ten years later, the Warn winch was manufactured to fill the need for a reliable recovery tool to aid off-roaders stuck in challenging situations. Since then, Warn has grown to offer a wide range of gear with the hallmarks of durability and affordability. 1988 spawned the aftermarket industry's first ATV winch and today their PowerSports line of winches ranks among the most esteemed in the industry and jeepers call on Warn for electric, hydraulic and severe duty components that get the job done.
