4.0 Nice compact winch

This is a nice compact winch which I have mounted but not had the chance to try out yet. This is actually my second unit since the first one I bought failed to free spool but everything appears to function properly with the new one.

5.0 Outstanding product and service

The winch shipped immediately and arrived a day earlier. I use that as part of a rail car system for a boat and the wifi function is fabulous. Range seems to be further than the advertised 50'. I am very pleased with the Warn product

Q: Can you install synthetic rope on this unit? I realize the steel cable must first be removed, I’m looking to replace my superwinch EXP 8 which no longer works Answer this question

A: Yes the first thing I did was replace the steel cable with synthetic rope. I just had to make sure to install it correctly by keeping tension on the rope while reeling it in. Also the rope can't be in direct sunlight because the UV light can break down the rope.

Answered by Kevin from Kent, WA on 02/27/2022

A: Or use the Warn VR EVO 8-S Winch with Synthetic Rope - Part Number: WAR103251 or Warn Spydura Nightline Synthetic Rope Assembly with Hook - Part Number: WAR102560

Q: It says hawse fair lead but in the pictures it has the roller style which one does it come with? Also would this winch work on a trail gear rock defense bumper ? Thank you  Answer this question

A: Steel cable comes with roller fairlead, synthetic rope comes with Hawse.  Unsure about that brand of bumper.

Answered by Josh from Texas on 04/07/2021

A: It is a roller fairlead. Yes it would fit on that bumper as long as it has a winch mount integrated or you purchase a winch mount for the bumper if it doesn't come with one.

Q: I will be mounting this on a bracket that goes on a 2" hitch. Can you recommend a good bracket for this? Answer this question

A: We're not sure what type of set up you are building. There are some hitch mounted winch plates like this one on our site https://www.4wheelparts.com/p/curt-manufacturing-winch-mount-plate-31010/_/R-BKDK-31010

Manufacturer

In 1948, Arthur Warn founded Warn Industries to construct locking hubs for surplus World War II Jeeps. Ten years later, the Warn winch was manufactured to fill the need for a reliable recovery tool to aid off-roaders stuck in challenging situations. Since then, Warn has grown to offer a wide range of gear with the hallmarks of durability and affordability. 1988 spawned the aftermarket industry's first ATV winch and today their PowerSports line of winches ranks among the most esteemed in the industry and jeepers call on Warn for electric, hydraulic and severe duty components that get the job done.
