The unique design virtually eliminates rust creating welds. The skid plate is a bolt-on design with a frame attachment bracket that allows drive shaft travel. It also means easy conversion from a stock to lifted vehicle. Made from 1/8 inch and 3/8 inch steel and black powder coat.
I installed the plate several years ago on my 2001 Jeep TJ and it has protected the oil pan and transmission after many rock crawling trips with only surface scratches. Be certain to use a medium strength thread locker on the screws, as trail use will back out the nuts. As noted, the only downside is that you must remove the plate when servicing the transmission, so be sure to change fluid and filter prior to installing.
In 1948, Arthur Warn founded Warn Industries to construct locking hubs for surplus World War II Jeeps. Ten years later, the Warn winch was manufactured to fill the need for a reliable recovery tool to aid off-roaders stuck in challenging situations. Since then, Warn has grown to offer a wide range of gear with the hallmarks of durability and affordability. 1988 spawned the aftermarket industry's first ATV winch and today their PowerSports line of winches ranks among the most esteemed in the industry and jeepers call on Warn for electric, hydraulic and severe duty components that get the job done.
