You get what you pay for. Can you get a cheaper winch with the same capacity? Yes, you can buy a winch from another company that is made in china for half the cost. You will see M series winches used on commercial vehicles frequently. There is a reason for that. These are made for frequent use. I put this in an AEV bumper on a Ram 2500 so the bumper has to come off to service the winch. But if your application provides easy access or you dont use it frequently these are expensive. So basically whether or not its worth the money to you depends on how your gonna use it. So far The couple times Ive used it its worked great. No cool wireless remote or 12volt output like the zeon platinum. But, the M series is built more for heavy use.

Manufacturer

In 1948, Arthur Warn founded Warn Industries to construct locking hubs for surplus World War II Jeeps. Ten years later, the Warn winch was manufactured to fill the need for a reliable recovery tool to aid off-roaders stuck in challenging situations. Since then, Warn has grown to offer a wide range of gear with the hallmarks of durability and affordability. 1988 spawned the aftermarket industry's first ATV winch and today their PowerSports line of winches ranks among the most esteemed in the industry and jeepers call on Warn for electric, hydraulic and severe duty components that get the job done.
