Tuffy Security Glove Box

Bought the Tuffy Glove box for my 06 LJ. Summer is right around the corner so I want to drive around with the top down and the doors off. Lets face it, the stock glove box is not secure. This was the first Tuffy product I had purchased and I must say - I am blown away by the quality of this item. Everything about this glove box is off the charts - It looks good, functions great, seems bullet proof (could be used as a skid plate!)and its Made in America! You only loose a tiny bit of storage room over the stock unit. Im coming back for the Tuffy Console ASAP! Only thing was there were no instructions with mine. Not that they were even needed. I dont think there is any way you can buy this and be unsatisfied.

Easy enough to install, just follow along with the instructions. It fit well and works well. There is slightly less storage space than the OEM, but not horribly so.

This was my first Tuffy product, and won't be my last. The fit and finish are well done. I marked 4/5 for a mounting hole that was drilled off. I can leave my wallet, radio face and Leatherman in it when I'm hiking or at the beach, and it's pretty secure. The instructions point out how removing the interior dash screws for the OEM piece are horrible, and they are right. You have to reach in through the radio mounting hole, and attack them at a backward angle. After developing a raging case of carpal tunnel, I took a different approach. I cut a line 1" around the inside of the plastic OEM glovebox (after I removed the door) with a dremel. That way i just pulled out plastic bin and attacked those screws with a socket, through the big glove box opening. Way better than reaching in by the radio. My only gripe is that two mounting holes, inside on one side, are 1/8" - 1/4" off and I can't get a drill in there to fix it. All the other screws and mounts are right on, and it holds just fine.
