    4.0 2005 Tacoma Add-A-Leaf

    I ordered the add-a-leaf to give the stock leaf packs a little more strength, and maybe a little longer life. During installation I stripped one of the leaf spring center pins. Learn from my mistake, do not attempt to compress the springs together with the bolt alone. I used large C-clamps to do the majority of the spring compression. It added about two inches of lift on top of the two inch lift blocks that were already installed (To avoid any confusion from the PROS section, I did not add two springs to each side). This required longer shocks, as the stock shock were topping out and causing a harsh ride (not a bad idea, the replacements were shocks for a 3" lift from Tuff Country and were much beefier and really improved the ride). Great kit for the price. I'm very happy with the end result.

    Q: 2007 tacoma double cab 4x4. I installed a 3-1 lift kit over the weekend and it sags a bit in the rear. I used the 1" blocks but feel an add a leaf will be better. What product can I use to get a level or factory rake look. Dave Answer this question

    Q: will I need longer u bolts to put these on? the truck has a 6" tuff country suspension lift already. if so how much for the u bolts? the block in the back is 4.5 inches Answer this question

    A: Hi J The Add a Leaf will only take up a 1/4" of u bolt length. Check your existing u bolts to see if you enough length you will require 1" extra length. Thank Youi

    A: Hello roadhawg, Thank you for the question. I suggest upgrading to longer shocks and a new u-bolt kit.
