TeraFlex HD ball joints are engineered to handle the increased load caused by oversized tires and offset wheels. The upper ball joint incorporates hard sintered wear bushings to handle extreme side load demands with out failure. The lower ball joint features a threaded top cap for adjustable preload and allows grease servicing without axle shaft removal, even with larger RCV shafts. A machined grease passage in the lower joint housing assembly provides lubrication access without affecting the ball joint load surface. Ball Joint features: 1045 carbon steel housing with magnesium phosphate coated assembly. 4140 chromoly ball/stud with magnesium phosphate anti-corrosion coating.
Steering completely firmed up after replacement of stock ball joints. I did not quite have the “death wobble” with the stock ball joints but it was getting progressively worse. I appreciate that these can be maintained and adjusted over time as well. 4WP also installed - great job!
Great product! Had installed and very pleased. Drives so much better. So glad to get the stock ones off as they were failing with my bigger tires.
Great product! Worth the money! Recommended for upgrading.
Q: For the $357 each on instillation is that for the set or per ball joint Answer this question
A: Hey Chris, that is for the full set, two joints per side. So far I have been extremely satisfied with the level of tightness or steering precision that the new ball joints added. I installed the Non-knurled ones because I still had the originals and I knew that the axle cups were undamaged and therefore didn't need the additional "teeth" to bite into the axle. They look very well-made and we'll see how they do. So far, so good but beware, it's a beast installing the set with hand-tools!

A: I'm pretty sure that's what it cost me to get the whole kit installed it's about an hour and a half install both sides so adds about right. I recommend their warranty service on the installs too. Saved me a bunch of times. These ball joints are awesome BTW. The only thing that finally stopped my 40"death wobble.

Q: I've read there is a "break-in" period of about 500 to 1000 miles. What does that mean and how does the jeep handling driving feel? Is it a "loose" feeling at the steering wheel or ? Answer this question
A: I’m not sure about any break-in period. I certainly didn’t drive my JKUR any different than before. It drove and still drives like new without any looseness whatsoever. If you need ball joints, you may want to verify that your front bearing assemblies are also good. I replaced both.

Q: Should you get the ball joints without knurls if it is the first time replacing the ball joints from factory? Answer this question
A: Hi Alex, In regards to the TeraFlex Dana 30/Dana 44 JK HD Ball Joint Set Without Knurl here is what TeraFlex says about the differences: We recommend Ball Joints w/out Knurls (# 3442002 or # 3440000) as they will not score the inner knuckle & open up the bore We also offer Ball Joint w/ Knurls (# 3442022 or # 3440020) for ball joints that have a loose press fit in the inner knuckle due to repeated ball joint replacement or if knurled ball joints have been installed in the past. So I read this as if the bore is not damaged and or you have not replaced ball joints before, keep without knurl. If the bore is a little loose, use knurl. If you have any further questions you can contact our customer service center @ 877-474-4821 Hope this helps
