A: I would not use nor do I use an in-line fuse. During heavy pulling it can exceed the current capability of your battery or alternator internal regulator, unless the fuse is <150amps and slo-blow, it will blow everytime if you put a dead load on it... if neither object is moving you could in theory pull 550 starting amps, ouch. That’s why you need a 650cca battery and minimum 160Amp alternator. In fact I only run 750-800cca amp battery, deep cycle, sealed gel and a 200amp alternator on all 3 of my jeeps... No start situations are a no no! If you shut down right after a hard pull, past 2 windings, on a factory 600cca battery and 160Amp  system, (alternator stock) cold outside or 2-3 year old battery, pray to Jeep gods the 400amp starter will do its job or you get to push if manual or call a buddy if automatic... a good 160Amp alternator at 1200 rpm on a brand new stock battery will take 20-30 minutes to reach a fully charged state after a 2-3 minute hard pull on the winch and if your running (My) 42” LED bar, 6 4” cubes, headlights and fog lights which go through the clock spring and TIPM... which mine do because of state lighting laws, your battery or winch solenoid could actually be drained to point of no return or burn through on output winding side. The TIPM and clock spring  system power distribution and priority will deprive power to direct connect aftermarket items to support and protect ECM/TCM/CANBUS. “ASSUMING 2007JK and later.”

A: I don't have one, nor do any of my friends have one on their winch. This winch, per the manual, draws 435 A at maximum pulling capacity. I don't remember ever seeing a fuse that big. HTH.

A: It comes factory with a 3 amp mini blade fuse. Early winches use a 5mmx20mm glass fuse 3 amp. Both are time delay.
