Have to modify original bumper just alittle bit for it to fit but it is sturdy

easy install
Recieved plate today. 2 hours later my wench is installed. Had to modify the brackets with a chop saw to clear my air-conditioning lines below the radiator. Other than that I just bolted it on with my tube bumper. LOVE IT!!! I totally recommend this kit.

Instructions
Works as expected, don't expect anything but crap instruction from anything from Smittybilt. If you plan on putting this on a OEM bumper be ready to cut and grind a lot! As far quality its good stuff. 4 stars because of trash instructions, this does not fit INSIDE OEM bumper, sits on top.2018 JKU

A: The Smittybilt Winch Plate part # S/B2804 is designed to be used with the stock bumper, it mounts on top.

Q: What is the fancy little rod with threaded plate for? Answer this question
A: It is a nut plate used during the installation process. The rod allows the nut plate access to the inside of the frame rail since there’s not a whole lot of room.

A: If your stock front bumper is steel, then no this will not work. If it’s a plastic front bumper yes it will.

Q: Will this fit on the 2012 Wrangler JKU MW3 Edition front bumper? I bought this used and it already has an XRC8 winch on it but there is no mounting bracket, someone hooked it up with just 2 bolts. Answer this question
A: I think those came with a steel front bumper like the 10th Anniversary. If that is the case, then no this will not work. If it’s a plastic front bumper yes it will.
