These look as good as they work. My wife needed help getting in after a 3" lift and 35s. I hate steps on a jeep but these are very nice.
Well packaged - no damage. Good fit and finish. One person install. Significantly adds to the side protection of your Jeep.
I totaly messed up my order and they got it all fixed at no cost to me . These are my people now .
I was able to install these by myself in under 40 minutes. The longest part of the install was removing the factory steps
These are heavy, well made, nice welding. They look to be very strong even with only the two mounting spots. My boy is 6'3 and 250 pounds and they hold up well for him. Both he and I have to step down into the Jeep as the step is higher than the inside floor. I didn't want a step that hung down however .. It took the two of us 30 minutes to install both of them, they fit perfectly and bolted right up without problems. While not "rock sliders", I think they are pretty strongly built, and would probably stand some mild abuse.
these are the most solidly built side steps I have ever bought from smittybilt. With the through frame mounts and body mount I am sure it is not going anywhere when I set it down on a rock or something. Great redesign by smittybilt from the jku version which was body mounts only.
Doesn’t fit the 5 gen. Limited 4Runner even though your website says it does. You have to remove or cut out the side rocker panels. Once I replaced my panels with the TE trim from Shrockworks, I put the smitty built step/rockers on. It looks great!
Easy to install and very sturdy. Gives my Jeep the look I want and is great for protecting it when I go on some trails!
Q: How the heck do the u bolts for the rear mount? It’s impossible without dropping the u bolt into the frame? Answer this question
A: That was my thought as well, but it’s a bit easier that it seems. Insert from the back hole first, then as you get the first elbow of the ubolt in the frame start moving it towards the front hole. Have a nut handy, and as soon as you have enough threads out through the hole to catch with the nut your are good. Hope this helps.

A: Use the hole you put the u bolt in to place a large pliers or something in behind the u bolt to hold it in place until you get some nuts on it. Two people are preferred. One to hold the rails and one to bolt it up. I somehow managed it on my own.

Q: Is it possible to use them as hi-lift jack point of contact to lift the truck? Answer this question
A: No! These are steps, I would not recommend using as rock sliders or as any kind of lifting point. They bolt on to the underside of the rocker panels/body

A: Although I have not used them to do so personally, I have had the truck balanced on both sides of the truck on them once while crawling in Moab. They did not bend and belt the truck off the rocks as we made it through.

Q: Is the finish gloss black or textured black? There is conflicting information in the description. Will it match the Smittybilt SRC front bumper? Answer this question
A: It is textured black. Unsure about the matching part with the bumper. But it sure looks good.

A: Yes the finish will match - Powder coated in Smittybilt's signature series two-stage black textured finish

A: Hi, I installed these on my 09 Rubi a few months ago and they bolt on using the body mounts with out problems.
