The installation was not hard at all. I just used my car's scissor jack for the front of the bars and held it with my hands in the back until I put the two nuts in. I had to cut out a square 1" from the skid plate on my Rubicon (not sure if that is the same case on the Sport or Sahara) on the passenger side. The driver side needed no mods. There is this weird nut on a wire that needs to be fed through a hole in the front of the frame. I found that holding the wire with locking pliers was soooooo much easier than using my fingers. As of the date of writing this review the image on this site is wrong. Each side step mounts to the body mounts only at the back and the front is an L-shaped bracket that mounts to the frame. The image (possibly from a JK) mounts front and back to the body mounts. That is NOT correct! I actually had to talk to the Smittybilt guys so that they can verify it before my purchase. I am attaching an image of what it actually looks like. At the end, the install was fairly easy with the hard part of drilling out and tearing out a piece of the skid plate using my locking pliers. I made sure to spray some Rust-Oleum to make sure rust won't get to the part I ripped out. The Jeep looks great, I don't know if I would use these for a heavy duty rock jumping but for my purpose it's perfect.

The installation design is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. Dropping nuts that are welded onto plates into the frame to bolt it up is a joke. Especially the ones that have a wire attached to it .
5.0Heavy duty, meets my requirements
I wanted heavy duty rock sliders for my new Jeep JL two door. These were easy to install and feel like a sledge hammer won't break them. Highly regarded if you're serious about crawling.
Do you need to loosen or remove the body to frame bolts that are secured with Loctite from the factory?
Answer this question
No, you will not need to remove the frame bolts. You remove the 2 nuts on each side of the frame bolt, then scoop the bracket under the washer of the frame bolt and over the two studs (which you took off 2 nuts before), and finally tighten. Seeing how you are looking at the 2 door version, you do not have to worry about the tricky front mount on the 4 door version.
