Bumper arrived earlier than expected. Bumper looks great cant wait to get it on the truck.
Such a great product. The fix was precise and easy.
This bumper is sturdy adorable. What I like most about it is that it follows the OEM bumper. So it actually looks Factory. My only downside is that the step plate does not meet the back of the vehicle flush oh, like the OEM bumper so there is a visible Gap of about 1" that you can see when you open the rear door. I will be filling that Gap with ABS plastic. However it would not have cost Smittybilt all that much material can make the bumper meet the back of the vehicle flush. The backup lighting is a welcome addition
Great bumper, I love how well it fits around the vehicle trim
Love this bumper! Not too hard to install, I was able to do it by myself. I've already used it for one extraction just a week after installation.
First off I had some trouble with the shipping, it was listed as tires with the freight company and they were unable to deliver it to my house because it was on a full size semi. As for the installation, it really needs color instructions. When you have to make cuts to the rear plastic body panels its impossible to see a white line on a silver part with a black and white photo. Also the entire bumper needs to be able to be adjusted left and right, there is a 1/2" gap on the passenger side and its flush on the other side. Overall I am happy with this bumper, great price, solid mounting, and good paint.
This a great looking bumper and it is very easy to install with the right tools.
Q: Does this bumper retain the stock back up sensors? Answer this question
A: Yes it does.

A: Yes it uses the stock backup sensors, they snap into an oblong plate which is then bolted to the M1 Rear bumper.

Q: Why does it say you need the oem hitch receiver to install it? Answer this question
A: Just means it doesn’t come with a hitch, but with a designed shape to support the oem hitch underneath. I like it, strong nice and not too expensive. Instructions could be better (I cut the oem bumper in a different way, to better hide the apace between the body and the bumper).

A: Because of the mounting location my aftermarket hitch had to be removed. The factory hitch has different mounting locations.

Q: Do you have to cut the bumper cover where the side panel is below tail light for install? Answer this question
A: Yes, the side panels are attached to the bumper and need to be cut. Directions are pretty clear to where you cut.
Answered by Nick from Denver on 01/12/2021
A: Yes you have to cut the original bumper Once cut there will be no going back. Cuts are fairly simple. Biggest issue for me was removing factory bolts as I broke one Had to drill out and replace by fishing bolt thru frame. There is a you tube video For different bumper that shown similar cuts required for M1 bumper. Also I broke some of plastic mounts for original bumper and had To order replacements from Toyota.
