Easy install. And works great.
I had been waiting for Poison Spyder to release a Gladiator Bumper to match my PSC Bruizer front bumper. I called them a few months ago and they told me they were just going to make an adapter to use a JL bumper. Well looks like Smittybilt beat them to it. Pretty simple install. Works great. You do have to relocate your license plate. But theybprovide a mount and lights with the kit.

Serves its purpose but needs more thought.
The bracket does work. However the options for a license plate are limited and not practical for use of tailgate. . Also the bracket doesn’t allow for the new bumper to sit flush. When mounted it leaves some gapping between tailgate and bumper. Possibly including a cheap insert/space filler would be a good option.

Q: Would this allow for a tire carrier bumper and the tailgate to function properly? Answer this question
A: No, We do not have/offer a tire carrier for the JT.

Q: What about tow ratings? I am very interest in this due to the fact there are very few rear bumpers being built today for the JT with a tire carrier that can safely accommodate a 39-40" tire that won't block the rear tail lights. Towing is critical to me Answer this question
A: The 78701K maintains the vehicles tow rating, it would be the bumper that you mount to it to be concerned about.
