5.0 3 weeks with no issues

Mounted this on my roof rack so that the can sits flat on the broadside. No leaks so far, and this holder was very secure and didn't let the can sling around a lot. The hole for a padlock could be a little bigger to accommodate the slightly larger padlocks but it's not a deal breaker. I've had it about 3 weeks now with no issue.

5.0 Well Made Jerry Can Holder

I in the past used the jeery can holder which just fit the base of can (like on back of army jeep). This holder is much better and LOOK good to

4.0 works as advertised

Isnt built for modern day jerry cans which are thinner.no real rubber stops to stop can from vibrating, still secure though.no real instructions.buy rubber stops or washers to help reduce vibration. Remember 5 gals of gas or water weighs about 40 pounds and it is going up, down, left, right. Use large washers on supporting side for larger support area. Mounted on my 1997 silverado on the opposite side from gas filler on step indention. Braket sits out past side by about 1/4inch. Wouldn't have if holder was sized down for thinner new jerry cans.

4.0 It'll get the job done

It'll do the job. However, the locking strap doesn't hold tightly when there's no can in the holder, even when on the lowest position. The design allows for connecting multiple holders together, which is what I did for a 3 can rack.

Q: Can this be mounted to a running board? I have a Mercedes Sprinter 2500. Answer this question

A: I don’t think this would work with these. I have 3 bolted together in a pick truck bed. They work good for that. To have only partial contact on the running board my not be a good idea. You would need at 75% contact.

A: It's got 4 holes on the bottom, and 4 more on each side. If you have room to place all 4 holes, I don't see why not. It'll hold a lot of weight when full, so you're definitely gonna want to make sure all 4 holes can get screws.

Answered by Bryce from Arizona on 01/23/2021

A: I highly doubt that that is possible without some pretty sophisticated fabrication.

Q: I have a 1999 chev express 3500 long wheel base van, Do yall think I can mount this on one of the back doors or maybe even in side of van? Answer this question

A: It can be mounted to any flat surface.  Or any mostly flat surface with some shims. Use strong hardware, as the fuel can will be heavy when full!

A: Mine is mounted on the back bumper of my travel trailer.  We welded a little metal extention on the bumper for it to sit on. I would not recommend inside the van.  It would make your van a bomb if you ever had a wreck.

A: Duane, the Smittybilt Jerry Gas Can Holder does not require any other parts to use, other than the Jerry Can itself. I hope this helps!

A: ...non..., the Smittybilt Jerry Gas Can Holder is a universal Jerry can holder, so you will have to drill some holes to mount this to the Jeep depending on where you want to mount it. Hope this helps!
