Smittybilt is proud to introduce their new Pivot Heavy Duty Oversized Tire Carrier and Tailgate Reinforcement System that is engineered to hold up to a 40-inch spare tire. The monoblock aluminum construction is combined with forged chromoly mounting brackets for the ultimate in strength to eliminate tailgate sagging and rattles, even while holding up to 135 pounds. The new Pivot Heavy Duty Oversized Tire Carrier triangulates the tailgate mounting and body tub hinge points using existing mounting holes to distribute loads across a wide area while maintaining the easy single action opening and closing of the tailgate.

5.0 Excellent workmanship and super rugged

I love the design. Strong, and smart design. Two antenna mounts, one on each side. I haven't purchased a Hi-Lift mount yet. I left the license plate on the Jeep steel bumper, no need to move it. Great looking, very happy I bought it.

4.0 Looks great, definitely heavy duty.

This carrier looks great on my jeep and is very heavy duty. Only giving 4 stars because I had to modify the pivot a little bit so I could place the tire on the setting closest to the tailgate as I have extremely offset wheels and didn't want the spare sticking out so much. Also the license plate relocation bracket had to be purchased separately, it is not included.

A: Yes it does, I didn't relocate my license plate if you're going to relocate your license plate it will go under the third brake light.

Q: Does this tire carrier work with the factory backup camera? Answer this question

A: Yes, relocation bracket is included. Make sure you read the instructions and check the diagram on the first page it helped me figuring out what bracket goes on first.

A: Yes. However, depending on the wheel offset it does block some of the peripheral vision.

Q: I thought this had the license plate relocation parts, what's the part number for it? Answer this question

A: I bought mine last year. It did not come with a license plate relocation bracket. Only the third brake light relocation bracket. Not sure what the part number is for the license plate bracket.

A: I don't have the jeep anymore. I had 40's on it. I had to lift the handle a little to shut the back so it wouldn't scrape. I thought i might need to readjust and retighten everything but i never got to it and traded the jeep. This was my 1st time replacing the tire carrier.
