A: Yes the size of this rack is 3.5' wide x 5' long x 4" sides and has been used in previous Jeep Grand Cherokee, It's always a good idea to measure it out - please call us so we can get you the correct mounts for the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee Rain Gutter Clamps / or brackets that are designed to attach a Defender Roof Rack to the factory roof rack rails without drilling or modifications. 800-421-1050

A: Smittybilt does not have an official static rating for defender racks. It all depends on the bracket system you use. As long as you don't use drill in brackets, you should have no issues with mounting a roof top tent.
