Installed 2" lift, this drop pitman reduced or nearly eliminated the bump steer

5.0Won't find it cheaper anywhere else
Good quality part. You don't want to cut corners on this stuff if you will still be driving on the road. Using it with a 9" lift on a 78 f150 and steers just the same as it did stock. Of course a drop this big will put a lot of stress on your steering box but without a high steer this is the best and safest option to keep steering geometry right, you don't want too sharp of a tie rod angle which will fail.

Replaced stock arm for lift and fit great.

5.0Works good for your OM617 swap!!
It's spendy, but it does drop the tie rod end far enough to clear the front sump on the OM617 swap. I suppose it would work for other XJ's too...

4.0Does Everything it Promises
I have a 1992 Ford explorer with a 6 inch lift but it only had a standard drop pitman arm (4-6 inch lift). I knew full well that I would be dealing with excessive bumpsteer. It drove just fine until it went over any kind of irregularity on the ground and then it shot to either the right or the left. I knew about the Skyjacker extreme drop pitman arm (6-8 inch lift) all along but also knew that it was the most expensive of any aftermarket drop pitman arm for Ford TTB trucks. I finally decided to spend the money and give it a try. I installed it, now bumpsteer is almost completely unnoticeable. It is the most expensive, but is it worth the price? Absolutely!

you need to call and see what they have - they have nearly everything. If you put a lift on your truck you need this - I cheaped out and didnt get it, because of that the lift put extra pressures on other components which resulted in rebuilding the front end and having to replace this anyways.
I ordered a 8" lift for a early 1999 F250. I received a pitman arm for a late model 1999 that won't work

Thanks for the inquiry 907curt, the Skyjacker Pitman Arm part # SKYFA699 this is for a truck built 3/99 and newer, if built before March 99 you would need part # SKYFA600.

I have a 81 k-5 It has a 6 inch lift . The axles are out of a 73 3/4 ton suburban . it retains the stock k5 steering box. will this pitman arm be enough drop for the lift i have, and will it bolt up on both side of the arm ?
autoshaman from vermont on
no it is for a 2.5 to 4 inch lift. You should use an steering arm on the knuckle for a 6 inch kit. you can use the SKY CA100 or the EXP GM400
