These skid plates help protect various parts of your driveline, so you won't be left stranded off-road by an unfortunate experience. Skid plate is finished in semi gloss black powder coat. Features: 3/16 thick steel, prevents damage to the underside of engine, and bolt-on installation-attaches in 3 locations.
Its a quality piece of equipment, just not made for a 96 to 98 ZJ. The box says XJ and has no mention of a ZJ. I called Skid Row after checking their website and they told me there had been fitment problems with the later ZJs so they removed the application from their catalog. In 4WP's catalog it shows it fits the ZJs, but will not without some modification to the trans mount bolts. I am going to try to recess the trans mount bolts to get a flat surface to mount the plate.

3.0Modification needed with rubicon express long arms
If you have a rubicon express long arm kit, or a belly pan that is not flat all the way across including brackets, this won’t work. It needs to bolt right where the control arm brackets bolt to center section. My drive shaft hits the skid and I have it as far to opposing side as I can get it. Driveshaft hits skid when flexed. I have to grind a 4” section on skid to see if I can get it to clear. Other than that, it’s great.

5.0A must have skid plate
This is the 2nd Skid Row skid plate that I purchased. The first one was supposedly list by a shop while work was bring done. Way better then factory
4.0Easy install for "peace of mind"
Although the photos on the provided installation instructions are not very clear, the installation was easy. The plate feels heavy duty enough to provide adequate protection to previously exposed oil pan/transmission. I now have a lot more peace of mind when on the trails.

5.0expensive but you get what you pay for
i think you can set whole jeep on skidplate and gastank would still be fine
3.0A bit on the light side
Product fit well but just does not seem heavy duty enough. I would recommend but reserve the right to change my mind after my annual rubicon trip this summer.
5.0strong and easy
good product, good instructions, quality hardware, large hole for engine oil drain plug A+++++++++++
It does fit a NP242 T-case. On the website it was listed as working on a ZJ and XJ. I have a 96 ZJ and the crossmember does not allow for a direct bolt up. According to Skid Row it will bolt on to the earlier ZJ's 93-95 no problem.

does the Skid Row Off Road | Part Number: SFKJP-5006 sway bar skid plate fit the 2015 jeep rubicon without cutting lower portion of cross member?
Answer this question
Thanks for the inquiry steve, the Skid Row Off Road Sway Bar Disconnect Skid Plate part # SFKJP-5006 as the instructions say no drilling or cutting required.
Fits 2007 to 2015 Wrangler, Rubicon and Unlimited
2 and 4-door models
Does not fit 2012-2015 newer JKs
I cut and pasted the above from this product's description.
As you can see, it starts out by stating that it fit's '07-'15 JKs, but finishes up by stating that it does NOT fit '12-'15 JKs
So forgetting about asking WHY someone would actually switch off their brain and write conflicting information in the same field, all I'm gonna ask is this:
Will this product fit the 2015 Wrangler JKU?
Answer this question
Hello Kevin, sorry for the conflicting info. The Skid Row Off Road Evap Canister Guard part# SFKJP-5007 fits the 2007-2011 jk. This will not fit your vehicle. Thank you for your inquiry.
