This steel bumper is constructed of thick 3-inch tubular steel and includes end caps. This bumper is as tough as it looks. Include all necessary hardware.
I bought this because I wanted the back bumper to match the front "stubby" bumper that I also purchased. I was a little disappointed because I could not keep my factory tow hook installed, but I'm getting around that by purchasing a draw bar for the tow hitch with a d-ring. The hitch bolts on my factory hitch were too long for the bumper to be installed. I could not push the bumper in far enough for the frame bolts to align The solution was to put 4 washers between the tow hitch bolt heads and the frame to shorten the bolt length on the other side. That allowed enough travel for the install. The install instructions say you will have enough travel to customize the position for the look you want. That's not possible if you want to keep your factory tow hitch.

A: Hello Talked to Rugged Ridge and they said it is 109 wall tubing. The thinner bumpers are normally made out of 90 wall tubing.

Q: this hitch typre says it's frame mounted. Could it be used for recovery? Answer this question
A: The 1987 to 2006 Wrangler, Rubicon and Unlimited have a light weight rear cross member in the back and even though the receiver hitch is frame mounted it only has a 2,000 pound rating. The receiver hitch can most definitely be used for recovery of your vehicle and the recovery of others. So depending how stuck you and others are yes you can but go easy.
