Love taking your doors off, but hate the hassle of swapping out your mirrors? Have mirror relocation brackets, but dislike the limited visibility they offer with doors on? The Rugged Ridge Quick Release Mirrors are the perfect solution for your Wrangler. How quick can you remove or install this pair of stylish black quick release mirrors? In a word, quick! The mirrors mount to a bolt-on bracket and are secured with a locking knob that allows for easy installation and removal. The long adjustable arms give you great visibility with your doors off or on.
I bought this simply to make my JK legal to drive when the doors were off. It was inexpensive and black (not a fan of chrome) and seemed like it would work.
The installation was very easy, just 2 bolts on the windshield bracket and done. They included a rubber gasket that goes between the brackets to protect the paint. This was important.
Once on and adjusted, I was concerned that the knob that holds the arm from rotating would not be able to withstand the wind but it actually did it perfectly with speeds up to 80mph. Haven't gone any faster but I feel it would hold tight.
The only downside is that it vibrates at speeds over about 30mph but not violently, you can still tell if there are vehicles next to you. I put mine on the driver's side, and I feel that if you put one on the passenger's side it would be too small to see much.
Still, it makes the Jeep street legal and that was my biggest requirement.
