The Pioneer SX Platform is the most versatile roof rack accessory for off-roading and everyday 4WDs and pickups. The black powder-coated design is not only sleek it also makes your everyday life on and off the road easier. You can load and unload your equipment in moments. The Pioneer SX Platform is made from reinforced nylon and aluminium which creates a lightweight strength that is seriously durable. These non-corrosive Pioneer SX Platforms have withstood testing in the harshest conditions around the world so you know they can be trusted.
Loading and unloading your equipment is easy. Simply slide your gear onto the Pioneer SX Platform and tie them down to the bars. The best thing about the Pioneer SX Platform is that it has been specifically designed to carry existing Rhino-Rack accessories including luggage bags, jerry can holders, spare wheel holders, shovels and loads more.
Rhino-Rack also offers the flexibility of allowing you to purchase the available rail kits if you wanted to add rails around your platform.
Note: The Pioneer SX Platforms are designed to suit specific vehicles with SX legs
3.0Great product, but may require leg kit for Xterra
The platform rack itself is great. The only issue I ran into was the compatibility. When using the vehicle feature on 4wp this rack comes up as an available option because it’s a “universal fit”, but it does not tell you that you have to also have the vortex SX leg kit to actually install this platform to the factory roof rails. Overall the rack fitment works for me. On a 2nd gen Xterra with Pro4X trim there is a storage area in the roof behind the roof lights. This platform rack lays over it making it inaccessible, but there’s not much I kept there anyways other than spare tarps for camping. The pioneer rack seems sturdy enough to handle basic cargo loads without worrying about weight limits. Only recommendations I could make is to include better fitting specs; i.e. making sure the customer knows if they need the vortex leg kit upfront, and to provide updated instal instructions. The current instructions seem like they are used for most - if not all Rhino Racks which leaves some confusion to the end user. Lastly, there is something in the instructions referencing a wind strip that is inserted in the ends of the crossbars, these strips were not included in my platform kit or vortex leg kit.
