The Tail Shaft Conversion kit for 5 Front/Rear lift height shortens the Transfer Case allowing for a 4 inch longer CV Style drive shaft, improves driveline alignment, reduces bind, friction and vibration. drive shaft sold separately. Fits NP231 Transfer Case Only. Will not fit NP207 in some models.
Although not listed it does fit an xj. Appears to be pretty well made and should really strengthen my driveline and eliminate any vibes. Instructions that came with it were from the teraflex sye kit(not sure if thats even legal) and was higher priced than a few others. It was more difficult to remove the TC than install the sye. P.S. make sure you have a set of lock ring pliers, not just snap ring pliers.
This kit is awesome . Fit and finish was awesome. Heard of guys telling u that u can install with transfer in the jeep ... i dont see how ! Much easier to follow the instructions and remove it . ONLY thing i did not like was the kit includes 3 circle clips u need for install . One of which was good u can use proper circle clip pliers on .... the other two however .. were the kind that just had flat ends and are a pain to put on ... dont know why they cant put regular circle clips there too
This kit is easy to install with the propertools and reduced the vibration in the driveline when i went to 35 in tires
In combination with the CV joint drive shaft the Jeep now rides smooth and steady at all speeds.
smooth ride,reduces drive shaft vibration
this product is the best
Installed when 4:1 kit was installed
The instructions were not all the explicit and it took more then the 2 hours it said it would but the vibration is gone in the driveline and the strength is vastly improved....
