Add-a-Leaf kits are the perfect solution when 1.5 in. - 2.5 in. of raised height is required. This strengthens the integrity of an existing leaf spring pack, which is helpful when trying to renew the spring due to age and heavy loads. ; Rear Add-A-Leaf Kit; Long; Boxed
Easy to install, and much overdue. I'll keep putting these in my trucks and will recomend them to others.

Made my sagging tail look like new.
I wanted to get the best results from my up coming suspension lift. My Jimmy was riding lower than stock after 13 years, These realy helped restore the stock look and ride. Now I can expect max results after the lift is complete.

These add-a-leaf springs are provided without any installation instructions. Installation requires disassembly of OEM leaf packs and insertion between top hanger leaf and the rest of the pack. Removal of existing leaf clamps is the toughest part of the install, and the replacement stamped sheet metal clamps provided don't look too rugged. I was able to open up the orignal clamps enough for disassembly, and then used a pipe clamp to squeeze them back. The original clamps had just enough room for this extra leaf to fit. Replacement tie-bolt diameter was larger (both shaft and cap head)than the orignal bolt. The holes in each OEM spring leaf had to be opened up to 3/8" (requires titanium drill bit), and the new bolt head had to be ground down to 0.5" from 0.55" in order to fit into the tie bolt socket on the axle saddle. Installation is not a task for the inexperienced or someone without a mechanic's toolchest. These add-a-leaf springs are OK for someone on a budget, but installation of new leaf springs would be easier. If you value your time, go with new leaf springs. If you have a full day to spend doing the installation and only want to spend[$], then add-a-leaf is for you. A floor jack, jack stands, 3 or 4 8" C-clamps, socket set w/breaker bar, hack-saw, and patience are essential. Resulting lift was about 1", and this leveled the sagging OEM springs on my '95 YJ.

Perfect for a little lift
The add a leafs were easy to install, took about an hour. Almost an instant lift. Definately helps for hauling equipment in the rear now with no sag.

I added this to my 1987 Toyota 4x4 Customcab as it was sagging in the rear from the extra weight of the customcab conversion and a camper shell. Installed easily in about an hour. Raised the rear about 1 3/4" after it settled in. Ride quality seems to have improved, perhaps by reducing bottoming out. Cheap, effective, easy to install, no reduction in ride quality(my rig is heavier than most Toyotas) what more can one want?

NOT FOR RAPTORS
Spring were too long to fit in with the stock springs.
By KDynge from Visalia, CA
DOES NOT FIT RAPTOR
You must cut almost 2" off of the spring to enable fitment on the Raptor. Although they show it fitting, it does not & should not be installed unless you are willing to make these modifications

i put a new bumper on the front and back of my 91 yj the back one has a tire rack on it, I have a 33 in tire on it. 2 months later the back of me jeep is setting much lower then the front ! will this help to bring it back up ?
D.R. from southren Utah on
Yes, this will help lift the rear of the vehicle and control some of the extra weight added by the bumper and rack. Thank you for the question.
