Got this driveshaft ordered since it was the quickest one I could get in and it promptly failed in under 500miles at the cardigan joint so I’m at a loss of words for what went wrong exactly
If you look at my photos the one that was under my jeep blew the ear for the yoke off, only 800miles with it blowing slowing coming from a stop sign on a dirt road, pulled the arm and got a replacement and now the replacement seized, the splines shaft was stuck and wouldn't move in and out and I had to actually drill out the one side and use a punch and 5lb hammer and a 6ft pry bar on the joint to separate and than I find out the plastic coating they use on the spines was clogging everything. Anyways went with a adams driveshaft is cheaper than what this website says for a pro comp
I have had mine installed for about 15 years now and have used on many different trails. I have had good luck with mine for around 100k miles. I have just had it fail. Hopfully I can still get the part needed and have it up and running. I do run an ARB so maybe that helps on some of the tougher trails and the reason for getting the mileage I did.
I bought this to go with the slip yoke eliminator and it really was worth it.
Spend the money and get the driveshaft when you get the lift kit and save time.
In combination with the tail shaft kit the Jeep now rides smooth and steady at all speeds.
Q: Is this picture generic? The Procomp driveshaft that I need to replace on my 2000 GMC Sierra SLE with a 6" lift, has a CV joint and slip yoke splined shaft at the transfer case, and a u-joint at the differential? Is new mounting hardware included? Answer this question
A: The 51256 is correct for 99-06 GM1500 with 6” lift. The driveshaft does not come with new mounting hardware.
