Lifted 2007 Jeep JK models can be prone to developing steering shimmy due to excessive rim and tire width or excessive caster. A front alignment cambolt kit can be used to fine tune caster to correct these common issues. The rear pinion angle can also be adjusted with a rear alignment cambolt kit to help diminish driveline vibrations. These cam bolts replace the fixed non-adjustable lower control arm mounting bolts that fasten the lower arms to the axle. The cambolt kits should be recommended and sold to any enthusiast who is installing a 2-5 inch JK suspension lift.
I went to ProComp to back track the part I needed. Back in the day someone had removed the leafspring system on our 1995 Wrangler and installed a ProComp 5" lift system. I must say I had ordered the incorrect part because the vendor discription call out the replacement part, incorrect! Lost sometime and shipping cost but I now have a system that I can work with. Take you time when working with mod. systems. Thanks 4wheel.
Cam bolts did the trick to get rid of the steering wobble.
My 2009 Wrangler handles alot better at high speeds on the freeway.
I ordered a procomp leveling kit for an '86 F150 I'm working on (read sat in a field rusting for 3 years before I got it) and you absolutely HAVE to have this to get the thing even close to alignment after you put the kit on. Pro Comp says you don't need anything else, but I guess that's if you don't care if the front tires only ride on the two outside inches of tread... Seems to be doing ok once I put these on and got an alignment
I have an '05 Wrangler that developed a "wobble" after installing a 2" lift. Pro Comp recommended I install these cam bolts to allow for caster adjustment. They installed easily and although it has only been a week, the problem seems to be corrected.
