Prior to April 1, 2016, GM 1500 trucks had either cast steel or aluminum control arms. Trucks manufactured on or after April 1 feature stamped steel upper and lower control arms. Pro Comps new 4-inch (K1173B) and 6-inch (K1171B) kits will work on GM 1500s with aluminum or stamped steel control arms. If you have inventory of the previously-released Pro Comp OE aluminum application 6-inch (K1165B) or 4-inch (K1159B) kits, you can add the new Sway Bar bracket kit (90-60616B) that will allow you to use them on the new truck with the stamped steel control arms.
So I spent about 3 months contemplating what lift to do, almost bought the BDS kit and the fox 2.0 upgrade like my brother was doing to his. 4wp had a killer deal on this so I went this route.
Hands down worth the price of the BDS kit. More comfortable in every situation. Had my truck about 4 months now with 16,000 miles, got the parts installed last month at 11,000 miles.
No annoying body bounce when hitting bumps!
No bouncing neck or jarring back when hitting bumps.
Body roll in turns unnoticeable!!! (Which does make you a little nervous at first honestly)
Responsive on highways and in town, hope will improve without bumper rub.
My wheel setup is 20×10 -24 on 35×12.5R20 and it runs pretty hard with a stock bumper. Will be going aftermarket soon! Will update if possible not sure if I can on this site.
The tires are different track widths, get a pair of 2 spacers for the rear to make it look even.
If you live somewhere it snows be aware the rub is gonna be insane when snow/ice/mud pile up in there.
All things considered, since it seems the only thing I can even barely complain about is rub which I knew I was gonna have this will absolutely be something I reccomend to friends and purchase for any projects moving forward.
