The PTX9204302700 Power Trax No-Slip will fit the front Dana 30 in your JK.
It will provide excellent traction off road and in muddy conditions. It operates smoothly
and will differentiate freely when the throttle is not being applied. However when you are locked into 4WD and on the throttle putting power into the front differential the unit
is going to lock and drive both front tires equally. If you are turning and on the throttle
the inside tire will break loose. In 2wd the unit will have no effect.

The axle in the Liberty uses a different size side gear than the earlier Dana 30's.
To use the Power Trax you would need an early style case. They run in the 90.00 range part number D/S 706007x or D/S 706008x depending on ratio.
Yes the Powertrax 9204302700 will work in your 1986 Jeep CJ 7 Dana 30 front axle with factory 27 spline axles and standard open differential carrier. although it is easier to install the locker into the carrier with the carrier out and the ring gear removed it is not necessary to do so it can be installed with the carrier in the axle housing but you will have to remove the axle shafts.
