Poison Spyder Customs BFH front bumper is designed for strength, simplicity and function. This bumper was literally " Built For the Hammers" with the best ground clearance, tire clearance and approach angle possible. It is just slightly wider than the Jeeps frame rails, with angled facets to improve its ability to slide over the rocks. The BFH II bumper is CNC laser-cut from high strength 3/16" plate steel, then precision brake-formed for an exact fit. The BFH II bumper features a DOM tube, gusseted Brawler Bar, integrated winch mount, and provisions for mounting the OEM Jeep fog lights. The Trail Stinger is similar in proportion to the famous Poison Spyder Trail Stinger for TJ-YJ-CJ, one of our original products. This time-honored design has proven itself on thousands of Jeeps over the years, providing simple, clean lines along with a measure of forward-flop protection. The Stinger is fabricated from 1-1/2" DOM tubing. The tubes are CNC laser notched to seat onto two different surface planes of the bumper shell for maximum strength, then further strengthened with CNC laser cut 3/16" plate steel gussets. The rake of the Stinger matches the angle of the front surface of the bumper, to provide an un-hindered "ramp" if needed, to help the vehicle up onto extreme obstacles. The Trail Stinger extends 13.4" forward from the front edge of the bumper, and 17" high from the top surface of the bumper. SpyderShell Armor Coat - Poison Spyders SpyderShell finish is more than just powder coating—its a complete system that includes the state of the art in preparation, application, materials and packaging to ensure that your SpyderShell products stay looking great for years. The SpyderShell process has been engineered to provide your Poison Spyder product with years of unmatched great looks, corrosion protection and weather-resistance. Our proprietary 6-stage system starts with media blasting the entire part, to remove contaminents and prep the metal surface for the best possible adhesion. Next, any seams are sealed with 3M Scotch-Weld to block moisture from entering and causing corrosion where the powder can not reach. The first coat to be applied is a zinc-rich powdered black primer, which is baked on to form an impenetrable bond between the metal product and the coating. The primer is black--rather than traditional gray--so that any rock chips or trail damage are less conspicuous. The final top coat is an industrial grade, "super-durable" architectural finish in semi-gloss black, which is engineered to retain its appearance through years of exposure to sun and weather. SpyderShell is a coating process unmatched by any other Jeep armor aftermarket manufacturer, for which we are confident in offering a 5-year warranty on materials and workmanship. Heavy Duty Recovery Shackle Tabs - The high clearance, heavy duty recovery shackle tabs are CNC machined from 1" thick plate steel to provide a secure attachment point for 3/4" recovery shackles. Like the stinger, these tabs are specifically engineered to match the angles of the BFH bumper to result in zero loss in approach angle. Recessed fog lamp mounts are designed to easily accept your stock fog lamps. And these arent just simple light tabs placed behind a hole in the bumper—theyre recessed into a tubular "bucket" to encircle the lamp and keep light from annoyingly leaking behind and around the bumper. For those who would like more light than the factory fog lamps provide, a set of Rigid Industries Dually or similar LED cube lamps may be installed using our JK Fog Light Mounts for Rigid Industries Dually/D2. IMPORTANT: The stock fog lamps used on the Jeep Wrangler 10th Anniversary Rubicon do NOT fit into the fog lamp buckets on this bumper. Integrated Winch Mount - BFH II Bumpers double as a fortified mounting system for your winch. The rugged 3/16" plate steel construction provides a strong foundation for recovery equipment. Internal gusseting further strengthens it. Winch mounting bolt holes are provided in two patterns: the popular popular 10" X 4.5" mounting pattern used with most common winches, as well as the narrower 6 X 4.5" pattern used with the lightweight Warn 9.0Rc competition winch. Note: a winch fairlead and fairlead mount will be needed (sold separately). Optional Disco Skid - The JK BFH II Disco Skid (sold separately) is a bolt-on skid plate to protect the factory electric swaybar disconnect motor on JKs. In stock form this motor hangs low, making it vulnerable to rocks and trail hazards. The BFH Disco Skid protects it, but also comes with hardware and instructions to rotate the motor upward, further out of harms way. Like the BFH II bumper, the Disco Skid is made of CNC laser-cut 3/16" plate steel and is designed to be a great looking, functional addition to the JK BFH II bumper.
Poison Spyder Customs has a heritage in hardcore off-road accessories that started when founder Larry McRae was little. McrRae's daddy use to load him up in the Ford Bronco to explore the off-road trails of the southwest. McRae became a professional rock crawler who raced for Nelson & Nelson Racing in the early 2000s. McRae purchased PSC from the Slay family and kept the vision of developing and fabricating high end quality off-road accessories right in the Pomona, California headquarters . McCrae and his wife are members of the Inland Empire 4 Wheel Drive club. McCrae himself is a Past President and Mrs. McCrae is a past Treasurer.
