The JK BFH Disco Skid is an optional bolt-on skid plate to protect the factory electric swaybar disconnect motor on JKs. In stock form this motor hangs low, making it vulnerable to rocks and trail hazards. The BFH Disco Skid protects it, but also comes with hardware and instructions to rotate the motor upward, further out of harms way. Like the BFH bumper, the Disco Skid is made of CNC laser-cut 3/16 inch plate steel and is designed to be a great looking, functional addition to the JK BFH bumper. This product ships as bare steel—it will need to be painted or powder coated prior to final installation. We do not offer a powder coat option for this item. IMPORTANT: The BFH Disco Skid was designed to work with the 07-11 JK Rubicon sway bar disconnect mechanism. It is NOT designed to work with the 2012 and newer units. Customers may use this product on their 2012 and newer JK Rubicon at their own discretion, but Poison Spyder makes no warranty as to fitment or guarantee against damage to other components of the Jeep due to the use of this product on 2012 and newer JK Rubicons. NOTE: The JK BFH Disco Skid works only in conjunction with the JK BFH Front Bumper. It is not designed to work with the stock or other aftermarket bumpers.
Seems like a heavy duty upgrade from stock original; however, replacement bolts should come with this product as my stock bolts had been pretty damaged as was the stock cross member I was replacing.

4.0Poison Spyder Steering Box Skid Plate.
I would give this skid plate 5 stars for quality of manufacturing. It is very sturdy, with a flawless powder coated finish. Unfortunately, I returned it because it was incompatible with my RockJock Antirock sway bar. One of the features of this skid plate that makes it mount so sturdily is the arm that sticks up. The steering box bolt that goes through the hole in the skid plate’s mounting arm lacked physical clearance with the Antirock’s arm. Otherwise, the Poison Spyder steering box skid plate would be on my TJ now.

4.0Sweet skid plate.
Love this plate, but I am having difficulties finding long enough grade 8 bolts to mount it. One would think that long enough bolts to mount it would be included, but nope. Try finding a 6.5 inch grade 8 bolt. I've been trying since I picked up the plate from the powder coated with little luck.

There are instances that when you relocate the evap canister it could give codes that are hard to troubleshoot.
I bought this for the name and the easy installation process. it's 3/16 inch steel and is very heavy duty. Should last a long time.

This is well built and should do the job! Heavy duty and good price, install was not bad. This should get the job done

Like the complete surround, and the heavy gauge steel. Also raises the canister another inch or so off the trail.
