    Q: I had my Fuel Filler and Fuel Filler Vent hose replaced 2006. Fuel filler looks good but fuel vent hose is all crack all over and leaks. What could it cause it? Also I notice 2 they offer first part CROJ5362159 by Crown at $13.99 and the other is partOAI17741.02 byOmix-ada for $20.99 I prefer made in US rather in China. I got 1985 CJ-7 Jeep L6 4.2 w/ 20 gal plastic gas tank. Any suggestion? Thank You! Answer this question

    A: Hi Eddy Welcome to California specific fuel. Here in California our fuel contains a high amount of methyl alcohol compared to the rest of the world to reduce emissions. The problem is that the alcohol dries out the rubber hoses. i do not know where the Omix or The Crown parts are made. All i can suggest is to replace the hose with the Crown and monitor it or go to your local mom and pop auto parts store and see if they have a fuel vapor hose in bulk that is approved for the California fuel and make your own. The big box auto part stores do not usually carry the Ca approved hose as the buy in bulk for all their stores on a national level. Thank You
