Replacement polyethylene gas tanks have no welds or seams and are guaranteed not to rust through for the life of your vehicle. With thickness nearly a quarter inch, the insulating qualities of the polyethylene will also reduce condensation and, most importantly, will eliminate rust. MTS' tanks are easy to install, using the original mounting hardware and are Made in the U.S.A.

Q: What is the height of this tank? Would prefer all dimensions, but need the hieght before I can pruchase Answer this question
A: 33" LONG x 18" WIDE x 12" TALL - 1987-1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ 20 gallon tank with fuel bowl. Replaces original 20 gallon plastic tank with or without fuel injection (will replace original 15 gallon PLASTIC tank w/ rectangle sending unit hole). Includes new gasket and new upper straps. This tank will directly replace Domestic model #'s 52002633 & 52018287. This tank will NOT directly replace export model #'s 52018779, 52019226, 52007258 or 52002622 - a new skid plate and sending unit are required. Some early 1987-1990 Jeep 20 gallon plastic fuel tanks had an open ended skid plate without the rolled heat shield over the exhaust pipe, we recommend replacing the skid plate as an exhaust/heat shield safety precaution. We also recommend replacing the fill and vent hoses to prevent possible fitment issues with the new skid plate.

Q: My current fuel tank that I have in my CJ has vent valves. If I were to put your fuel tank in my jeep am I going to be able to pass emissions? What do I do with the hoses that went to my vent valves? Answer this question
A: If you look closely at the picture, you will see two brass fittings provided with the fuel tank. The vent hoses go from the vents to the vapor recovery canister. On a different note, some modification is needed to hook the top strap to the existing hole to tighten the tank into the new adjustment hole. I'm very happy with the total outcome of installation.

Q: Can a pressure tank sensor be installed in this tank Answer this question
A: That would entail installing something outside the intended purpose of the tank therefore, no – a pressure tank sensor cannot be installed in the tank.

Q: Does this tank have fittings for fuel lines on the bottom and a vent line on top? Answer this question
A: Does this tank have fittings for fuel lines on the bottom? No, you will need to re-route your fuel line to the top of the tank and attach it to our brass barbed fitting already installed. Does this tank have a vent line on the top? There is a provision on the top of the tank for a vent line – the hole is partially drilled and threaded. You will need to finish drilling the hole out and purchased a brass fitting with 1/4” NPT (national pipe thread) to thread/screw into the pre-threaded hole.
