Q: I have an 83 cj 7 with an aftermarket larger intake for a 4 barrel. Will this work with the larger intake? Also what is the difference between the off road and the "legal" kit? Can I use the off road in NH? Answer this question

A: Hello Yes it will but you will need an adapter to go from the 4 bbl to a 2 bbl carb. The manifold is set up for what type of carb? I'm showing you don't do yearly smog tests in your state but that could change. I would run the smog legal kit to be safe. The difference is one is certified to be smog legal they both perform the same.

Howell Engine Developments, Inc. was formed in 1988 by two brothers who wanted to turn their passion for classic cars into their career. The company focuses on producing fuel injection systems to upgrade classic Jeeps that were made in model years before on-board computers were standard. Howell Engine Developments produces wiring harnesses that don't require Jeep owners to be electricians or computer programmers to successfully install in their classic Jeeps. Classic Jeeps can now access the increased fuel economy and heightened performance of an ECM controlled fuel injection system without the Jeep owner accessing headaches while installing the upgrade.
