2.0 The good the bad the ugly

I bought this kit for my Jeep. I have not had a chance to use it yet. I can not use it if I wanted. I finally received the kit in the mail, only to find that hardware was missing. How is a person supposed to use the kit when there is no bolts to hold it together. I received the chains yet the the hooks where missing the pins, but hay one cotter pin was there. I am going to have to either buy new parts or wait another month to receive the missing parts.

3.0 Not the greatest kit out there.

I've not used my kit yet, but assembled everything just to get an idea. The first issue I had, was that the box came with two left sided gloves. Making one useless. The carry bag is okay, but nothing is impresseive about it in terms of construction. I will have to say the same about the tree strap. It's just your basic strap. Now on to the good. What I am impressed with, are the tensioners and chain as well as the hooks and D-shackle. Everything seems well made, and the included hardware is also of high qualiy. We'll how they all hold up when put to use. If I were looking for a recovery kit, I'd probably build one up, instead of a package deal. You'd end up with a better kit in the end.

4.0 Solid piece of recovery gear

If you don't have a winch this could help you out of a jam.

3.0 Useful accessories, but check the box...

The accessories in the Hi-Lift kit are very useful and make winching much easier with your Hi-Lift jack. On the downside, the gloves in my kit were poorly sewn with exposed holes. I had to exchange them for this reason and found this to be the case in two other boxes, forcing me to mix a set... [...] Also, an entire bolt was missing but I didn't discover that until later. Hi-Lift was quick to respond and sent me a replacement part on their dime, but it was a little disappointing to find multiple issues with the quality control of these kits.
