Fortunately have not had to put it into action yet, but it all looks sturdy and easy to use, and transfer between vehicles when going out exploring. We live on a dirt road in the high desert, could be handy any time, you never know.

My wife gave it to me as a gift for my Death Valley 4 day off road trip. I used the pick and shovel to move a large rock and fill in a wash out on a narrow trail. Dig a hole for potty time. It is so compact it didn't take much room in my Jeep.

We really like this on the trail, it allows us to have the required tools in the OHV park we use, and not have to carry a lot of long, hard to pack tools. Item stores easily in its bag and takes about as much room as a case of beer

The axe and pick have a dull edge and need sharpening. The connection pin in the middle of the handle is a bit in the way. Otherwise, it's a sturdy and well-built tool kit.

I have only been out once since I bought the combo unit. It did come in handy to use the pick and shovel to dig a big fire pit ;o)

I was looking for a shovel and axe for putting in my jeep but didn't want to mount them outside the jeep so they don't get ruined. This is perfect and adds the pick axe and sludge hammer. They are not full size but are big enough to be useful.
